Wood
Mold
Wood mold usually enters your
residence
through firewood. It is the most prevalent form of wood mold in the
home. Wooden furniture has a finish on it which protects the grain from
picking up mold, but if you get the wood furniture wet enough you will
find wood mold there too eventually.
I ran into wood mold problems with clients who were looking to buy a
house. I sell real estate in Northern Illinois, so there is often
firewood inside the houses. The client was still having allergy
problems even though the wood was stored in a hidden wall panel and the
fireplace hadn't been used in a year.
With wood mold the only way I have found to keep it away is to keep it
outside until you are ready to use. That way the wood mold stays
outside where it is harmless to you.
