Mildew
Removal
Mildew removal is a little more
difficult than mold removal because mildew is usually set within cloth.
I have had luck rubbing Clorox 2 into mildew spots on my shirts. I have
only used it on light colored fabrics so I'm not sure how it will work
on bold colors. The secret is to just try on the shirt tail first to
see if the color stays fast.
Other forms of mildew removal from furniture is difficult. First try to
dry out the furniture completely. Often time high humidity is the
culprit for creating mildew within your furniture fabric. You can try
steam but I'm afraid unless the moisture is controlled it will keep
coming back. You may want to try the Clorox 2 process that I outline in
my book.
You have to be careful with mildew removal that you don't ruin the
fabric that you are working on. As a rule try a small inconspicuous
spot first so that if the attempt produces a bleaching, it will go
unnoticed.
Usually mildew removal is not much of a problem; however, I have talked
to hundreds of my readers who have different situations that need a
little more know-how. That's the reason behind "How
to Get Rid of Black
Mold". It has helped so many with relieving their mold
and mildew problems by
teaching them step-by-step how to do mildew removal properly and safely.
