Carpet
Mold
Carpet mold can lead to several
more
serious problems than just replacing the carpet. Carpet mold is
stubborn because it is eating away and protected by the fibers of your
carpet and padding. Not only do you have to dry out the carpet
completely, but you still then have to kill the carpet mold.
Everyone
at one
time or another has heard of the basment flooding. That is the most
usual cause of carpet mold. There are other calamities that such as the
washer or dishwasher flooding that cause carpet mold, but for most
cases it's in the basement.
I go
into great
detail in my book, "How to Get Rid of Black Mold", regarding carpet
mold and it's elimination. For one thing unless you use one of my
secret weapons, you are just creating more mold and mildew problems for
your future. But here's one I'll share with you; take up the carpet and
lay it out flat on your driveway in the sun all day. Flip it over after
about three hours.
The
sun light and fresh air will help to eliminate and kill the carpet mold.
