Mold Windows
Black
mold windows are windows that appear to have black mold
growing
in, within, or around them. Usually the wooden windows are more
susceptable to mold growth. But mold will grow eventually whether it is
attacking the wood or the dust. Also, windows get their fair share of
moisture too.
Black mold windows can be prevented by keeping them clean - including
the casements - and by keeping them caulked properly. If you still
suspect a problem after doing maintenance then the mold may have gotten
under some of the surrouding trim. If you are careful, you can remove
the trim without damage. Clean as appropriate and let it all dry
thoroughly before repalcement.
Black mold windows may not contain actual black mold. They may contain
harmless molds, but always treat every kind of mold like it is
dangerous and you will never get over exposed.
